Peckforton Castle Weddings – Natalie & Bernard

Written by Darren Bardsley on . Posted in Blog, Featured, Wedding Photography

Natalie & Bernard are a fantastic couple, living in the heart of Manchester. Bernie’s an avid United fan (Top marks straight away) and Natalie and her whole family support the Red side of Merseyside. So there were lots of camaraderie during the speeches as you can imagine.

This was our first wedding at Peckforton Castle and what a great venue it is. A proper winter wedding at the beginning of December and only a few weeks before the day, I was unsure whether there would be snow on the ground or not.

I always advise our clients when booking a late autumn or winter wedding to have the ceremony as early as possible, leaving enough daylight for capturing beautiful images. This is so true for weddings at Peckforton Castle and similar venues. On winter days, when the sun is low in the sky, the amount of light inside is dramatically reduced. That said, we knew this would be the case and our preparations paid off!

Post Wedding Shoot – Malta

A few days after covering Fran and Andrew’s destination wedding in St Julian’s Bay, Malta we decided to take advantage of the beautiful surroundings and do a quick lifestyle shoot. We normally take these kind of shots in one of our pre-wedding or engagement photo sessions before the wedding. We didn’t get the opportunity on this occasion, but there was no way I was going to let a beautiful place and couple go without taking advantage of the moment.

Emma and Tom’s Pre-Wedding Shoot | Castlefield Manchester

Emma and Tom were winners of one of our wedding fayre engagement shoots. They are getting married in the summer of next year at the beautiful Royal College of Physicians, Edinburgh. As two banking professionals living in Castlefield, Manchester they decided what better place to have their pre-wedding shoot. It seems lately that every pre-wedding shoot in Manchester was falling foul of our great weather and despite being in the middle of summer it was another grey and wet day.

Natalie and Bernie’s Pre-Wedding Shoot | Manchester Northern Quarter

I’m really looking forward to Natalie and Bernie’s wedding this December at the wonderful and recently refurbished Peckforton Castle. I’m hoping for either a lovely crisp winters morning with clear blue skies or for a blanket of fresh undisturbed snow. This is however Britain, so its a lottery when it comes to the weather, as it was in the height of our summer when we took Natalie and Bernie around Manchester’s Northern Quarter for their pre-wedding photo shoot.>/p>

When The Bride Says I Don’t to Photos

A stark reminder of the pitfalls that can beleaguer both photographer and the bride and groom. In the May 12th edition of Greater Manchester Business Week it ‘s reported that a pair of newlyweds have launched legal action against their photographer and brings mixed news for the business community. According to GM Business Week, the couple were unhappy with their photographer’s images and even sought independent evaluation from the Guild of Photographers as they pursue a 4-figure payout!

Wedding Photography Prices – Value vs Worth

wedding photography prices First of all I want to apologise about this extremely long post about wedding photography prices. I’m Sorry! This is a loooooong post and I think it needed to be as it covers an important issue that faces every bride and groom when deciding on the photographer for their wedding. After all the wedding photographer has one of, if not the most important jobs on the day. The wedding day for every bride is the biggest day of their lives and having the confidence that they have chosen the best photographer they can afford is a big stress point for a lot of brides. Over the past few years I have had a number of discussions about wedding photography prices and in fact the whole cost associated with getting married in the UK in the current climate. Some of these discussions at times have got a little heated as I tried to impart my thoughts on the topic of human nature, beliefs and values. I have been meaning to write this article for some time, but was beaten to it by Kat Williams who wrote a fantastic blog post which you can read below or go and view the original post at Kat’s blog, I’ve attached the link at the bottom of this article.
